About Our CEO
My name is Nankabirwa Diana, and I grew up in a small village called Buwere, near the Equator, in a humble family where life was not always easy. I attended a local government school where many children came from very poor homes. Most of us walked to school barefoot, shared very few books, and struggled to afford basic school supplies. I remember seeing many girls miss school during their menstrual periods because they could not afford sanitary pads and had to use pieces of cloth instead.
Those experiences stayed with me as I grew older. I never forgot where I came from or the challenges so many children and single mothers continue to face every day. That is what inspired me to start this charity in 2020 — with a simple mission: to give hope, dignity, and opportunity to vulnerable children and families.
In the beginning, I started small by using my birthdays as a chance to give back to the community. I provided food supplies, children’s clothing, and scholastic materials to single mothers and their children. I also helped pay school fees for three children who had stopped attending school because their mothers could not afford the costs.
Over the past two years, our mission has grown bigger. Together with a small community of friends and supporters, we now work closely with local government schools where many students come from extremely disadvantaged families. We visit schools to encourage children to stay in education, teach good hygiene practices, and educate girls about menstrual health.
We also provide scholastic materials, sanitary pads, sports equipment, scholarships, and support for primary leaving examination fees so that needy students can sit for their exams and continue pursuing their dreams.
Our goal is simple: to create a future where no child is denied education, dignity, or opportunity because of poverty.
Every child deserves hope. Every child deserves a chance.
